Falafels seemed like a good idea until they turn out to be fafftastic!
Ingredients:
Must haves:
chickpeas
All spices
pinch of salt
oil
Nice to haves:
flour or breadcrumbs
Procedure:
Pre-soak the chickpeas for at least 24 hours (unless you have the canned ones) otherwise you will be boiling them for hours, as we found out the hard way! Also, make sure that you boil them in plenty of water for faster cooking (another thing we learned over our camp stove). They need to be cooked until they are mushy. Mash them and add the spices and salt. Make little balls or patties and roll them in flour or breadcrumbs if you have any. Fry them and they are done! Nice both cold and warm.
